Iran has resumed its natural gas exports to Iraq, after it despatched the first cargo of natural gas to Iraqi Kurdistan last week.
Alireza Ashnagar, Iran’s Kurdistan province deputy governor general for political, security and social affairs has announced that 10 tankers holding 290,000 litres of gas oil were dispatched to Iraqi Kurdistan to mainly provide for residents residing on the border of the two countries.
Iraqi Kurdistan has historically relied on imports from Iran, and trade has resulted in billions of dollars of revenue for Iran over the years.
