Ahmed Mohammed Al Kaabi, the UAE Energy Ministry’s Assistant under-secretary for Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources, has been named as the country’s Governor for the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Al Kaabi enjoys a vast experience in oil market economics and OPEC operations.

Prior to joining the UAE Energy Ministry, Al Kaabi worked as Director of ADNOC’s office in Singapore.

He holds a Master’s degree in oil and gas from the French Institute of Petroleum in Paris.

He is a member of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) and serves as board member of the International Energy Forum (IEF) and the Bahrain-based Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY).
