Oman’s Minister of Oil and Gas along with a senior Iranian official have recently reviewed plans to build a joint oil terminal in southern Iran, according to the Islamic Republic’s official IRNA website.

Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhy, the Sultanate’s oil minister met Mohammad Hassan Akhbari Shad, head of the Department for International Affairs of National Iranian Oil, Refining and Distribution Company on Friday visited the Jask port, the proposed site for the oil terminal.

According to Piruz Mousavi, the head of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company (IOTC) the terminal will have the capacity to export 2mn bpd and 10mn barrels reservoir for oil and gas condensates.

During the tour, Akhbari Shad discussed the investment opportunities for Oman in Iran’s refining and distribution section with al-Rumhy.

Al-Rumhy reportedly mentioned that Oman’s private sector is keen to participate in Iran’s oil and gas projects.
