SPE’s ATSE event to kicks off in Dammam today

The three-day (April 26-28) Annual Technical Symposium and Exhibition (ATS&E) will feature 27 technical sessions, 4 pre-event courses and 4 pre-event workshops

The Society of Petroleum Engineers – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Section (SPE-KSA)’s Annual Technical Symposium and Exhibition (ATS&E) began in Dammam, Saudi Arabia today.

The annual event is considered a prime event that highlights the mission of the SPE-KSA in providing means for trading technical information concerning the oil and gas industry. Over the past couple of decades, this event has grown in size, representation, and importance to include the accepted papers in the SPE online e-library.

Being organised at the Dhahran Expo Centre, the three-day event (April 26-28) will feature 27 technical sessions, 4 pre-event courses and 4 pre-event workshops, and a panel discussion themed ‘How Do We Leverage Big Data Driven Innovation In a Dynamic Environment?’

The ATS&E’s opening ceremony took place yesterday from 6 – 9:30pm at the Emerald Hall of the Dhahran Expo Centre.

The event has been renowned as a key source for its technical sessions, publications, training courses and workshops. The symposium also shares the new technologies emerging the market of oil and gas industry, attracting people from different corporates around the region.

The 2016 ATS&E theme, ‘Marching forward in a dynamic environment: Turning challenges into opportunities’, highlights best practices in the current dynamic environment in order to meet global energy demands through collaboration, leadership and strategic planning.

Last year’s edition of the event saw 7,853 attendees, 5,748 visitors and 2,105 conference delegates from 38 countries.
