Air Energi has secured a five-year deal to supply contract personnel to Qatar Petroleum for its $11bn Bul Hanine redevelopment project.
Located 120km from Qatar’s east coast, the project aims to double production rates at the offshore field, where Qatar’s National Oil Company (NOC) plans to drill an additional 150 wells through to 2028.
The overall project includes the replacement and upgrade of existing offshore production facilities and the development of a new onshore natural gas to liquids processing plant in Mesaieed.
The deal has a two-year extentsion option and will see Air Energi source candidates across a range of disciplines, including engineering, construction and health, safety, environment and quality, with a peak of personnel required in 2017 when detailed design and construction commences.
“Air Energi has an excellent track record in working with Qatar Petroleum which, combined with our experience in both the local and international energy markets, made us a natural partner for this project,” said Andy Ryan, VP Middle East and Central Asia, Air Energi.
“One of the main challenges of this project will be sourcing the calibre of personnel required with specific experience in offshore redevelopment projects.
“But we are confident that we will achieve this by accessing our significant candidate network with a proven knowledge of similar offshore projects in the North Sea, West Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.”
