Manufacturing company 3M is opening its customer centre in Dammam, Saudi Arabia next month, which will be dedicated to the oil and gas industry, according to a report.
The company made the announcement during the Saudi Arabia Oil and Gas Exhibition (SAOGE) in Dammam.
The customer centre ‘will share knowledge and global best practices with key stakeholders of the country’s oil and gas sectors, aiding them with operational targets and development plans’, a company statement says.
“The oil and gas industry is a key focus for 3M in Saudi Arabia. As a science-based company, we have more than 10,000 products that are used at all points across the industry,” 3M Saudi Arabia managing director Osama Hammoudeh said.
“We all know that the oil and gas industry is currently facing challenging times, but we also believe that our solutions can help industry players operate more efficiently and thus overcome some of today’s toughest challenges across the industry’s upstream, midstream and downstream segments,” he said.
The company also revealed that a similar customer centre will be opened in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Products for the region’s oil and gas industry include lightweight glass bubbles to reduce the density of downhole cements; high-performance coatings for corrosion prevention in extreme environments; personal and environmental safety solutions against chemical and mechanical hazards as well as specialty polymer processing additives for the automobile and aerospace vehicle components.
