In a bid to boost confidence in Abu Dhabi’s energy sector, the organisers of ADIPEC have revealed that 144 new companies were registered in the emirate’s oil and gas industry over the last 12 months.
With the new additions, the total number of oil and gas companies operating from Abu Dhabi has now increased to 1,467, the Abu Dhabi Chamber stated.
The figures were revealed during the opening press conference for Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2015 by senior industry professionals, who are part of the event’s organising panel.
Being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ADIPEC will take place from November 9-12 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC.
Inspired by the UAE leadership’s declaration of 2015 as the ‘Year of Innovation’, the theme for ADIPEC this year is ‘Innovation and Sustainability in a New Energy World’.
ADIPEC, one of the world’s biggest energy industry event, is expected to host more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, 7,000 delegates, and 85,000 attendees from more than 120 countries, the organisers claim.
About 14 National Oil Companies (NOCs) and 16 International Oil Companies (IOCs) have confirmed their participation this year, including regional market players and global oil and gas giants.
