The Middle East Process Engineering Conference & Exhibition will return for the third time to Bahrain between the 15th and 17th of September.
Already the largest process engineering conference in the Gulf region, this year the event is slated to be the biggest of its kind to date.
Since its debut in 2011, it has grown considerably in terms of both participants in the conference and the size of the exhibition.
With over 1,800 delegates and 200 exhibiting companies, MEPEC 2015 is expected to attract thousands of visitors over the three days.
The event will take place under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain, while the Kingdom’s Energy Minister H.E Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza will open the conference, together with H.E Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, chief executive of nogaholding. Mirza will also inaugurate the exhibition.
MEPEC will feature talks and discussions on a number of key industry topics, with the programme running under the moto: ‘Delivering process efficiency through innovation and value chain’.
Two of the keynote sessions due to take place on the first day of the conference will discuss the energy outlook for a growing world and look at technologies that can give operators a competitive advantage.
A panel discussion on the sustainability of resources such as water, energy and feedstock will also take palace. Another noteworthy session is ‘Driving Process Efficiency to Meet Key Business Objectives’.
Following the success of the workshop programme during MEPEC 2013, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the event organiser, will host a series of pre-conference workshops on the 14th of September from 8:00 to 17:30.
The workshops will take place in Bahrain’s Hotel Intercontinental Regency in Manama and cover the following subjects: managing process safety risks during organisational changes, spreadsheet problem solving for chemical engineers, keys to successful project management, the leader’s toolbox for process safety management and the basics of the chemical industry.
