Oman Dry Dock Company (ODC) obtained a $10mn contract to provide Rabab Harweel project of the Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) with super steel structures.
Rabab Harweel is one of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) oilfields near the Wilayat of Duqm in Oman.
Implementation for the project will start next October with the participation of more than 200 workers and the use of more than 12,000 tonnes of steel manufactured at the company.
Dr Sheikh Abdul Malik al-Hina’ee, chairman of Oman Dry Dock said, “The Company’s operations are not limited to ship repair and maintenance but rather include major and complicated conversion of vessels.”
He added, “The completion of this contract will convey an important message to the marine and industry sector about the company’s capabilities and competitive edges in building marine structures inside and outside the Sultanate.”
Dr Ahmed al-Abri, deputy CEO for operations at the company said, “The company will create an independent administrative team for the project to ensure its quick and smooth running.”
With a workforce from more than 12 countries, Oman Dry Dock Company has received more than 340 contracts of different sizes and purposes since the launch of the dry dock in 2012.
