Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has partnered with Dubai Customs and DP World to conduct safety training on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) handling and storage for seafarers and employees at Dubai Customs and DP World ports.
More than 30 participants took part in each of the sessions, aimed at educating the public on how to handle, store and use LPG cylinders in order to improve the safety and quality of life in the local community.
Hesham Ali Mustafa, senior director of ENOC Gas Marketing & International Business Development and general manager of Emirates Gas, said the training was the continuation of an ongoing project to improve safety.
“Safety plays a pivotal role in our overall strategy, which places a strong focus on our customers and giving back to the community,” said Mustafa. “These two new training sessions follow the success of a previous programme recently run at Al Hamriya Port, in association with DP World and The Angel Appeal.”
“Part of our CSR initiatives, the programme also highlights our focus on strengthening our partnerships with governmental entities in the UAE, such as Dubai Customs and DP World, given our shared commitment to promote safety in the country,” he added.
EMGAS provides the LPG Safety Programme to various segments of society, including educational institutions, hotels and Labour camps throughout the year; in addition to mobilising mass public safety campaigns to promote the highest standards of safety in handling and operations.
