Drydocks World completes rig ahead of schedule

Project was refurbishment of National Drilling Company rig

Drydocks World has announced the completion of a refurbishment project on the National Drilling Company’s (NDC) offshore drilling rig Beynouna.

Drydocks World turned around the major repair on Rig Beynouna ahead of schedule in 28 days, the shipyard said in a press release.

This come on the back of numerous successful projects for NDC, which Drydocks World says has progressively increasing its strategic alliance over the years.

Drydocks World carried out drydocking, hull treatment, crane repairs, HP piping, SW lines cleaning, accommodation repairs and treatment works on the rig.

The quoted number of days to complete the project was 37, however Drydocks World managed to reduce the quoted repair duration and the project was completed in only 28 days, despite the drydocks currently experiencing very high demand.

A total of 40 tons of steel was used in the 21 various tanks, with the pipe shop renewing all sea water pipes in one week.

The Drydocks World rig division and NDC worked together as an integrated unit in order to ensure quality execution on the rig, preparation and planning were key to the successful completion of the refit, Drydocks World said.

As part of Drydocks World’s incentive program, the top performers were awarded with appreciation gifts from NDC and Drydocks World in recognition of their efforts.
