HB Rentals set for contracts peak in Q2, 2015

Company's MENA head expects next three to four years to be very busy

Almost a month since it opened a new office in Abu Dhabi, ArabianOilandGas.com follows up with HB Rentals to find our more about its offerings, plans and expectations for the future. Rami Miled, business development manager, MENA, says the second quarter of 2015 will be the strongest in the company’s history in the region.

The main requirements offshore are offshore service accommodations and the web service modules. Offshore, we have two product lines – the well service modules- small units, small containers, and they serve mainly oil service companies like Halliburton, Whetherford, Schlumburger, which need safe and controlled environments.

The offshore business became busier and busier over the last couple of years because in Abu Dhabi the infrastructure started to age and it needed to be renovated and substituted mainly in brownfields; the green fields have been developed [too]. The offshore started [developing] in 2010 and we are expecting what we call the next run now for the next 3 to 4 years when it will be very busy as many companies have committed to contracts which will start producing from 2016 and onwards.

An EPC contractor like Technip or Saipem would be executing a project in the sea, but they are limited on their boards on their personal fleets. The volume of the project requires for example 250 labourer. However some of them can only accommodate up to 150. HB Rentals will supply that shortage of accommodation [through] those extra beds in our units, with the units being connected altogether to the vessel systems.

In the units that we run here in the Middle East, we have junction boxes which receive various types of connectivity- power, internet and remote signals from the vessels. The clients will have the services but they will plug it to our units. We have different kinds of plug and play units and all you have to do is connect those services to our units.

We are holding steady despite the lower oil price and we are sustaining our strong relationship with ADNOC and are looking to continue to grow in Saudi Arabia. In the second quarter of 2015 we are expecting a momentum for our offshore accommodation (business).
