Maire Tecnimont, in consortium with Archirodon, has been awarded a contract with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS) for the IGD Expansion Project (IGD-E) on Abu Dhabi’s Das Island.
The contract includes Package 1, part of ADNOC’s Integrated Gas Development Expansion Project, that will transfer additional gas from Umm Shaif gas field to Habshan through Das Island, increasing the onshore sales gas supply.
The overall value of the project has been put at $490mn for the consortium, out of which approximately $225mn or 46%, belongs to the Maire Tecnimont Group.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 40 months starting from the effective date, on 17th of February 2015.
“As witnessed by our recent achievements, our long-lasting relationship with ADNOC Group of Companies keeps growing strong, with the prestigious addition of ADGAS to our clients’ portfolio,” said Pierroberto Folgiero, Maire Tecnimont chief executive officer.
“Furthermore, this result confirms the validity of our strategy to pursue business initiatives in selective geographies, leveraging on our distinctive competences as well as on the capability to team up with leading construction players with a strong track record in the GCC market, such as Archirodon.”
Tecnimont’s scope of the work includes the expansion of the existing gas dehydration plant with one additional unit and the related facilities, while Archirodon’s scope covers land reclamation, civil and marine works along the western coast of Das Island for the above expansion, including further additional land reclamation work for the IGD-E2 (future gas plant expansion project).
The project is important for the peculiarity of the location and consolidates the successful continuity of the group’s oil and gas operations in the UAE after the successful completion of GASCO Habshan 5 Process Plant and the recent award of ADCO’s Al Dabb’iya Phase III Project, a statement said.
It is another crucial milestone of the history of the group highlighting its reliability and competitiveness in front of another member of the ADNOC Group, while providing support for the nation’s energy plans, it added.
