ZADCO awards $5mn maintenance contract

Contract winner is RWG company, joint venture between Wood Group and Siemens AG

RWG (Repair and Overhauls) Ltd. has won a maintenance services contract estimated at more than $5mn from Zakum Development Company (ZADCO).

The contract has been awarded through RWG’s local partner Al Ahlia Oilfields Development and has an initial term of three years with an option to extend to five years.

It includes the overhaul and upgrade work of two gas generators at ZADCO’s Water Injection Plant at the Upper Zakum oil field near Abu Dhabi.

Under the contract, the gas generators will be upgraded to the ‘Avon 200’ standard.

It will also deliver local field service, technical support in maintenance tasks, trouble shooting and gas generator inspection.

ZADCO has set a target to increase production to 750 000 barrels of oil per day by 2015 and essential to achieving this goal is the upgrade of existing production assets to enhance performance and reliability, said Mohamed Al Marzouqi, senior manager for maintenance services, Operation Support, ZADCO.

“We selected Al Ahlia/RWG for this contract award based on their competitiveness, demonstrated experience with the Avon 200 and depth of engineering resource we require to support this project,” he added.
