Gulf Drilling International (GDI) has signed a deal with Gulf LiftBoat (GLB) to provide liftboat services to Dolphin Energy company.
GDI, a subsidiary of Qatar’s Gulf International Services, said the contract came into force in January and will continue throughout August this year.
The deal between GDI and GLB is part of an extension to a recent contract between GDI and Dolphin Energy.Â
GLB’s liftboat will eventually be replaced by the ‘Al Safliya’ vessel- ordered by GDI and constructed at NKOM Shipyard.
The N-KOM liftbopat is expected to be delivered to GDI in December this year.
Under a five-year contract announced earlier this month it will “immediately go to work” for Dolphin.
“GLB is thrilled to continue providing liftboat services to GDI with the Dixie Patriot. The company is grateful for the confidence that GDI has shown in GLB over the past two years and looks forward to building on the successful cooperation that has developed between the companies,” Hans Simons, GLB chairman, said.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with GLB and to be using the Dixie Patriot again. GDI began using the Dixie Patriot for its first liftboat job with DEL back in 2013,” Ibrahim J al-Othman, GDI CEO, said.
“GDI’s relationship with GLB has endured two years and will be continuing for another eight months. GLB has stood side by side with GDI throughout the DEL contract and I am glad to say that the relationship has proved to be durable.”
