Grandweld Shipyards delivered a new offshore support boat on Wednesday to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) after two years of construction.
The 42M aluminium fast crew boat named ‘SHAH 1’ will be operated by Irshad- the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Company in Fujairah oil terminal and will be used for the transportation of workers in offshore oil and gas operations.
The crew boat is powered by 3 high speeds diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers and capable of developing a speed in excess of 21knots.
It boasts diving support capability and has a seating capacity for 30 people.
Additionally, it has 104 sq m loading area for over 90 tonnes of deck cargo requirements, and specially designed wheelhouse and crew cabins.
Grandweld was awarded the contract for the construction and delivery of ‘SHAH 1’ in December 2013 following an international tendering for ADNOC’s fast crew boat project.
The Dubai-based shipyard provides shipbuilding, ship repair, and engineering services serve the offshore oil and gas industry.
