Total celebrates 75 years in UAE

As ADIPEC’s diamond sponsor the French company will have a significant presence at the show

French oil and gas major Total will celebrate 75 years of activity in the UAE showing strong appearance at ADIPEC this year as one of its main Diamond sponsors

A number of senior executives from Total’s global headquarters and operations across the MENA region will attend and help to set the agenda during the four-day technical conference.

The company will boast a double-deck exhibition stand in the main atrium showcasing Total’s activities in exploration and production (E&P), refining and petrochemicals, marketing and services as well as new energies.

A 3D display describing the CLOV project in deep offshore Angola, followed by live presentations on the group’s cutting-edge technologies will be present at the exhibition.

A highlight of the stand will be showcasing Total’s ‘Geology Operations Active Learning System’ (GOALS), which allows geologists greater access to a well site by recreating the environment in 3D.

Also on show will be the seismic imaging tool ‘Sismage 3D’, used to map the behaviour and characteristics of oil and gas reservoirs deep below ground.

Representatives from Total’s solar power subsidiary, SunPower Corp, will also be presenting its growing portfolio of solar photovoltaic installations around MENA, alongside representatives of Total Marketing Middle East, regional leaders in the marketing of lubricants.

Total’s wholly owned subsidiary Total Abu Al Bukhoosh (Total ABK) will also be celebrating 40 years since the start of oil production from the field, as well as the success of its TotalABKAcademy – established in 2008 to train UAE nationals as offshore oil and gas technicians.

Operated by Total with a 75% stake and Inpex – 25%, Abu Al Bukhoosh is the only oilfield in Abu Dhabi with an international oil company as its operator.

Hatem Nuseibeh, president of Total UAE and group representative in the UAE, said, “With 75 years of continuous activity in the UAE, Total can point to a rich heritage in Abu Dhabi and successful partnerships in almost every area of the energy sector, from the production of oil and gas using the latest technologies, to the realisation of large-scale solar projects.

“This year’s ADIPEC will allow us to restate our commitment to supplying energy that is safer, cleaner, more efficient, more innovative and more accessible – a proposition that underpins our new corporate baseline ‘Committed to Better Energy’, launched worldwide in October.”
