ZADCO’s Upper Zakum project scooped New Oil Project of the Year award in Abu Dhabi last night.
Commenting on the winner in this category, one of the judges said: “This is a phenomenal project, especially given the challenges from all of the existing assets that are in place and therefore need to be taken into consideration.”
Upper Zakum competed against Samsung Engineering Saudi Arabia SATORP’s Jubail Export Refinery Complex project and PDO-Glasspoint’s Solar Enhanced Oil Recovery project.
The award was handed out on stage by Adel Baobaid, president of Al Mansoori, who were one of the gold sponsors for this year’s awards.
