SPE conference to open in Doha

The SPE’s Middle East conference & exhibition will start next week

The Middle East Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainable Development Conference and Exhibition organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers will open its doors to visitors next Monday.

This year’s 7th edition of the SPE’s conference and exhibition will take place in Doha, Qatar between the 22nd and 24th of September. International and regional oil and gas, HSE, and sustainable development companies will attend the conference to discuss “sustainable development” which for the first time will be in the main focus of the SPE’s conference. 

The event will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar. Qatar Petroleum has been announced as the host organisation supproting the event.

The exhibition will showcase the latest products, services, and technologies in health, safety, environment, and sustainable development in the oil and gas industry. Companies that will have their products and services on the exhibition are 3E Qatar, Baker Hughes, CSA Ocean Services, DNV GL, Dolphin Energy, ExxonMobil, Falck Safety Services, FrontierMEDEX, International SOS, Maersk Oil, Newtech International, Oh Sung Chemical, OPITO, Occidental Petroleum of Qatar, Petroleum Development Oman, Providence Photonics, Qatar Petroleum , Qatar International Safety Centre, RasGas, RDT, Schlumberger, Shell, Simian Skill, Terralog Technologies, Total, and United Safety. 

Saif Al Naimi, conference chairman and director of HSE Regulations & Enforcement Directorate at QP, said: “Today, there is no doubt that HSE is an integral part in the operations of the oil and gas industry. In this region, we’ve seen a gradual shift in focus from the implementation of standard HSE programmes to the customisation, continuous assessment, and consolidation of the same programmes as per each corporate entity’s requirements. The 7th edition of this event will provide an excellent opportunity for experts to discuss these issues and the associated challenges, both in regional and international contexts.”
