Oil ministers from across the GCC countries will meet in Kuwait this week for the 33rd meeting of the Petroleum Cooperation Committee, with the price of the petroleum on the agenda.

Price unification has long been a talking point in the Middle East, and Qatar News Agency (QNA) reports that ministers will discuss the viability of price unification.

The report highlighted the discrepancy in prices across the GCC countries, with the lowest in Saudi Arabia and the highest in the United Arab Emirates.

The industry meeting is also likely to discuss common draft regulations for mining in the region, QNA added, as well as the issue of enhancing cooperation among national oil companies in the region.
