Annual production of plastics in the GCC will soar to 25 million tonne per year by 2015, according to Abdulaziz al-Hajri, CEO of Borouge.
“The annual production capacity of plastics from GCC will grow by 7 million tonne by 2015 to reach 25 million tonne from current 18 million tonne,” al-Hajri said in his keynote speech today at the Third GPCA Plastics Summit.
About 3 million tonne of plastics is currently converted into end products in the GCC. “Plastics consumption in GCC will increase 50% to reach 5 million tonne per year within five years,” he added.
