Oil & Gas Middle East will break from tradition, paring down the annual ranking of the Top 30 EPC Contractors to just 25 members, making the competition between the engineering companies servicing the usptream sector all the more fierce.
Last year’s edition of the list saw the UAE’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) take first place, followed by Indian firm Larsen & Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering, Petrofac, and McDermott in order.

Following the turbulence of the past year, with projects delayed or cancelled altogether, industry shifts towards hydrogen projects and cleaner fuels in general, and an increasing emphasis on efficiency and cost-cutting, EPC companies have had to adapt quickly.
For Oil & Gas Middle East, that has meant a shake-up in the usual ranking, as we have taken into account COVID-19 measures taken by the firms, as well as their financial results, ongoing and upcoming projects, backlog, and adaptability in the face of the pandemic.
The list will be released in the May edition of the magazine and on the website, which will go behind a paywall in May.
