Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is awarding contracts worth $900 million to three local companies for oil pollution clean-ups.
Local news outlet Alanba reported that Al-Sayer General Trading & Contracting, Khalid Al-Kharafi Group and the Kuwait Company for Process Plant Construction & Contracting won the deals for clean-up operations in North and South Kuwait.
KOC is currently seeking approval from the Central Agency for Public Tenders, according to Alanba.
“The tenders included five main packages involving treatment of the oil-polluted soil in North and South Kuwait following the (1990-1991) Iraqi occupation,” it wrote.
