Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has saved $19.4mn (AED71.4mn) in the past five years through its energy efficiency measures.
ENOC released the third edition of its Energy and Efficiency Report at the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition, WETEX 2019. It revealed that it saved $3mn (AED11.2mn) in 2018 due to energy and resource management measures.Â
“Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 developed by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has established a precedence for organisations to institutionalise energy efficiency and resource management practices within their operations,” said Saif Humaid Al Falasi, group CEO of ENOC. “At ENOC, we’ve made significant strides in energy efficiency and will continue to gear our efforts towards raising E&RM standards for the industry. We hope that this report acts as a guide for other organisations to use when incorporating energy and efficiency measures into their operations.”
In 2018, ENOC reduced its water intensity by 27% and has reduced waste intensity by 7% since 2014. The group has conducted more than 30 environmental studies throughout its business units to increase their sustainability performance.
Al Falasi was awarded the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award at the Middle East Energy Awards.
