BHGE ranks third on the Top 30 Oilfield Services Companies of 2019

Baker Hughes, a GE Company is active across the globe, but it takes the third spot on our list because of its tireless work in the GCC, where its efforts to merge its digital technology with the localisation needs of the region have been celebrated.

In July 2019, it announced that it would open a “game-changing” research facility in Dhahran Techno Valley, including the first industry 3D printer for metal in Saudi Arabia, as well as a data visualisation and automation platform to simulate and optimise well activity and construction. BHGE’s mix of cutting edge technology and localisation mean that it is well positioned for growth in the region, catering to many of the needs of major operators in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, its October 2018 acquisition of a 5% stake in ADNOC Drilling was a landmark deal for the operator, signalling shifting tides as national oil companies seek increased partnership with foreign companies, while adding and circulating value within the country.
