Officials from the Russian embassy in Iran met with the crew of UK-flagged oil tanker Stena Impero, which was seized by Iran as it attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The Russian embassy released photos of the meeting through its Twitter account, writing in Russian that “embassy staff met with the three Russian citizens in the crew of the detained tanker Stena Impero. Their health is good and they are still on board the vessel.”

It continued to note that the sailors remained on deck and that the Russian embassy was in communication with Iranian authorities about when they might be released.
Iran’s forces seized the tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on July 19 for what it says was a breach of maritime regulations. The Stena Impero is being held near Iran’s Bandar Abbas port.
