Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy (DoE) is working with the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) to provide instant licensing services through Tamm, the Abu Dhabi Government Services System, Emirates news agency WAM reported. The licensing services would be available to small energy businesses in the emirate, with the aim of facilitating the development of innovative technologies.
Eligible businesses would receive two-year licenses within one working day, free of charge, which Wam says “facilitate the minimum requirements and operational steps.”Â
This is part of ADDA’s initiative to develop its investment and business environment according to the Abu Dhabi Development Accelerator Programme, Ghadan 21.
“This new facility aligns with Abu Dhabi’s strategic direction by increasing the ease of obtaining licences and by creating an environment conducive to conducting business. DoE is keen to maximise the benefits from the sophisticated digital infrastructure of Tamm to provide our sector with the highest quality services,” said Hamad Al Ameri, licensing and compliance section head at DoE.
Tamm can provide companies with license for activities including water production, treatment and desalination, electricity generation and electricity generation by solar cells (with a maximum capacity of 50 kWp within a single facility), wastewater collection, treatment, recycling and disposal (including grey water), storage, distribution and supply of electricity and water for self-usage, supply, sale and purchase of water by tankers and the collection and disposal of wastewater by tankers.
