Eng Ahmed Al Dhaheri, CEO of National Petroleum Construction Co (NPCC), expressed delight on being recognised as the top EPC contractor on Oil & Gas Middle East’s Top 25 EPC contractors list.
“We are honored to be ranked as the number one EPC player in the Middle East. It is a remarkable recognition ahead of global EPC majors underlining the tremendous value-add we bring to the industry our partners, to the industry and to our nation,” Al Dhaheri said in a video posted on Twitter.
He added, “It is a moment of great pride for all our employees who are indeed the architects of the success, working hard with a strong commitment to deliver exceptional work, despite the challenges of working in a very demanding sector.”
NPPC’s head also discussed the company’s success in securing several multi-billion dollar projects in the Middle East, “building a solid backlog and expanding its geographical footprint while maximising value creation to its shareholders.”
NPCC kicked off the year with a great start by securing a $2.2 billion award from Saudi Aramco for the Zuluf offshore field.
In July, NPCC secured a nearly $1 billion EPC contract from ADNOC Offshore for the Umm Shaif field after a competitive tender process. The scope of the award covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities required to maintain Umm Shaif’s 275,000 barrels per day crude oil production capacity.
NPCC’s merger
Last year, Abu Dhabi’s National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) completed the legal completion of its mega-merger with NPCC to form one of the leading EPC powerhouse in the region.
NPCC’s integration with NMDC has been a “key enabler of this milestone,” Al Dhaheri said, adding that the merger has opened up opportunities for the company across the value EPC value chain across regions.
