Netherlands-headquartered British-Dutch multinational oil and gas firm Royal Dutch Shell Plc has appointed Mohammed Alzomaia to head its operation as the Country Chairman in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Mohammed Alzomaia is currently the General Manager for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain at Shell – a position he has held since July 2018.
Sharing an exclusive statement with Oil & Gas Middle East, a Shell spokesperson said: “Shell KSA proudly announces that Mohammed Alzomaia has been appointed as the first Saudi national Country Chairman for Shell Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, effective from August 1, 2021.
“Mohammed will succeed Andrew Crowe, who has held several leadership positions across a range of businesses and different countries in Shell.”
Prior to this role, Mohammed Alzomaia also served as the Commercial Advisor, and MECASTAN Cluster Marketing Projects Specialist, in addition to other positions within the firm, which he joined in November 2011.
Alzomaia has also worked as a Partner at Riyadh-based management consulting firm, Bakkah Inc, before his tenure at Shell, as well as at the global consulting firm, Ernst & Young.
Most recently, Shell confirmed its involvement in the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai as a supporting partner of the UK Pavilion at the World Expo, due to begin on October 1, 2021. Shell UAE will also be a national partner of the Netherlands pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
