Two contractors working for SASREF were killed while performing maintenace activities, and two more were injured. The company wrote in a statement that it “responded to an incident on a vessel while contractors were working on the unit during turnaround activities.”

Maintenance will continue as scheduled, despite the incident. SASREF was created as a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and Saudi Aramco, but was bought out by the latter earlier this year.
