National Oil Corporation (NOC) has formed a formal investigative committee and is liaising with local authorities to understand the origins of yesterday’s fire at the Tripoli Oil Clinic in Gharghour.
The fire broke out in the Oil Clinic’s drug storage facility around noon local time. Emergency responders and firefighters tackled the blaze shortly thereafter, successfully extinguishing it within a couple of hours. The fire did not result in any casualties. NOC and Oil Clinic management called an emergency meeting to review and initiate security protocols to sustain hospital operations. The meeting was hosted by NOC chairman Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, who quickly arrived on the scene to assess the damage and address staff.
Sanalla thanked first responders, the National Safety Authority, and the clinic’s staff: “NOC is grateful for your courage during this incident and determination to ensure the safety of patients. An emergency committee will quickly ascertain how the fire began.”
