UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced a reduction in working hours for all private sector employees during the Holy month of Ramadan. The announcement was made on Twitter on Monday and follows the implementation of Clause 2 of Article 15 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022.

As per UAE labour law, private sector employees are required to work 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week. However, during the holy month of Ramadan, working hours will be reduced by two hours per day.

The announcement by MoHRE is a welcome relief for employees during the holy month of Ramadan, as it will allow them to spend more time with their families and engage in religious activities. The reduction in working hours also shows the government’s commitment to supporting the well-being of workers in the private sector.
