Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Oman to hire over 1 million Filipinos for new jobs

According to the Philippines Government, there are plans for extensive recruitment of Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Oman.The sectors expected to see significant recruitment include tourism, hospitality, and construction, Arabian Business reported.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) of the Philippines is currently working on signing a memorandum of cooperation with these countries, expressing their interest in hiring more Filipino healthcare professionals and skilled workers. During a visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, DMW Secretary Susan Ople was informed that Saudi Arabia intends to hire around 1 million Filipinos for various new jobs. The specific industries involved in this recruitment drive in Saudi Arabia are primarily focused on the tourism sector, such as hotels, restaurants, and resorts that are set to open in the country.

A joint committee meeting between the Philippines and Qatar is also expected to happen in September, while it is also looking forward to having stronger ties with Oman which has also communicated that it has a high demand for workers.
