Eid Al Adha 2023: UAE announces 6-day holidays for private sector

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in the UAE on Monday has officially announced Eid Al Adha holidays for employees working in the private sector.

The Ministry has officially declared that the private sector in the country will observe a holiday for Eid Al Adha starting on the 9 of Dhu Al Hijjah (Day of Arafat), which falls on Tuesday, June 27.

This four-day holiday will extend until Friday, June 30, and all employees in the UAE’s private sector will receive full pay during this period.

Normal work operations are set to resume on Monday, July 3.

“The decision aligns with the UAE Cabinet Resolution regarding the approved public holidays for the public and private sectors,” the MoHRE said.

Eid Al Adha declared in Saudi Arabia, Oman, other countries

On Sunday, the dates for Eid Al Adha 2023 have been revealed in various countries worldwide. These include Malaysia, Indonesia, among others.

Local media reports in Saudi Arabia have confirmed the sighting of the Dhul Al Hijjah crescent moon in the Kingdom.

Consequently, Arafat Day is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 27, followed by the commencement of Eid Al Adha on Wednesday, June 28.

The Main Committee for Moon Sighting in Oman has also confirmed the sighting of the crescent within the country’s borders.
