ADIPEC 2010 (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference), the largest oil and gas event outside of North America, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, officially opened today with the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser.

ADIPEC consistently brings together energy ministers, Vice Presidents, CEOs and exhibitors from around the region and the global energy sector. Running 1-4 November, ADIPEC 2010 is hosting 1,500 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest technologies in addition to its strongest-ever conference programme – developed by the Society of Petroleum Engineers – featuring 262 top industry speakers from 33 countries, as well as associated show features such as the ADIPEC Tawteen Graduate Fair, yesterday’s highly successful CEO Summit, and the ADIPEC Awards: Excellence in Energy.

ADIPEC 2010 opened its doors today as the year’s most anticipated energy event and the biggest exhibition to be hosted in Abu Dhabi, a city growing in influence on the world energy stage. This year’s event takes up the whole of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) with over 31,000m2 of exhibiting space indoors plus an extensive outdoor area and featuring 14 country pavilions (France, Spain, Germany, Korea, Russia, Norway, Netherlands, UK, USA, Canada, China, Italy, India and Turkey with increased presence from USA, UK, Norway and China) as the who’s who of the energy industry.

ADIPEC Event Director Hifazat Ahmad said: “We are anticipating around 10,000 people to attend ADIPEC on Day One and 40,000 people over the four-day programme, and we are honored by the presence of His Highness for the official Royal tour of the show floor for 2010.”
