Tethys Oil has completed its 3D seismic survey over the East Saiwan structure on Block 4 in Oman, with information now being processed and new maps available shortly.
The maps will be an important input for the resources and reserves report currently being prepared by Gaffney Cline, the firm said in a statement.
“Seismic acquisition increases in Oman. The extension of the 3D-study to also cover the Farha trend on Block 3 follows the encouraging production results from the Farha South-3 well.
This underscores the potential on both Block 3 and 4. The 3D-database that is now being compiled will have great importance for the continued progress of Blocks 3 and 4,” says Magnus Nordin, managing director of Tethys Oil AB.
The survey will cover the entire Farha trend, where a number of structures similar to Farha South have been identified but not yet drilled.
The survey will encompass 740 kilometres squared in its entirety.
