ArabianOilandGas.com attended the excellent International Petroleum Technology Conference in Doha yesterday.
The turnout was impressive and the attendees at the event read like a who’s who of the Middle East hydrocarbons industry and all the big beasts of the oil and gas jungle, Aramco, ADNOC, QP, KOC etc were showing a strong presence.
The exhibitors hall was packed and some delegates looked like they could give a footballer’s wife a run for their money with the amount of goodie bags they were laden down with.
The food on offer at the stands was of an incredibly good standard too. At some conferences a pipe of Pringles and a bowl of mints is about your lot., but at ITPC delegates were treated to roast beef and horseradish finger sandwiches (Schlumberger), luxury stuffed dates (Aramco naturally) and Baker Hughes even had a scaled-down branch of Costa Coffee tucked inside their stand. Bravo!
The best giveaway has to go to Wintershall who had some Top Trump-style cards made up of their offshore platforms. Very clever guys.
