Drydocks World opens Abu Dhabi office

Dubai-based fabricator expands business into the UAE capital

Drydocks World has established a new representative office in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.

The announcement was made at the Middle East Work Boats Exhibition, which took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

“The UAE capital offers great potential for our line of business. Setting up a representative office in Abu Dhabi will help address the increasing needs of the rapidly developing city and the premier oil and marine industry based there,” said Hamed Mohammed Bin Lahej, Drydocks World executive vice chairman and regional CEO for the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Drydocks World recently delivered Perro Negro 6, a jack-up drilling rig hull, to Eni subsidiary Saipem. The rig was built at the firm’s Graha yard, on Batam Island, Indonesia.
