Last week on a blog post we said the acronym for the Venezuela Iran Oil and Gas Company – VENIROGC – was the worst ever to grace the oil and gas industry.
We also asked you to send in your alternatives to this assault on the eyes.Â
While we weren’t exactly inundated with responses, we did get two good suggestions.
Bob Arundell who works for Hydrolink in Dubai suggested the Iran Venezuela Oil Company – IRAVENCO. We thought it sounded a bit like a Dynamo Kiev midfielder from the 1970’s so we decided to make it our second placed entry.
However, the winner is John Gilbert who sent in two suggestions. He suggested that adding an O to the end of VENIROGC(O) would make it sound better – and he’s right.
But his winning suggestion is the Venezuela Iran Petroleum Company – VIPCO.Â
