What is your company’s scope of business within the oil and gas industry?
Turbine Services and Solutions (TS&S) Industrial is a solutions, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider for a range of industrial gas turbines and driven equipment used in the oil and gas, process, and energy industries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)region. Ultimately, we support the oil and gas industry in their ongoing operations.
Gas turbines in the oil and gas sector play an important role in meeting power requirements in remote areas, and it is crucial to provide regular MRO services to maintain this equipment. Gas turbines are derivatives from the aerospace industry and, as such, the turbines used in the oil and gas sector are operated on drilling platforms and floating production, storage, and offloading facilities, along pipelines, and in liquefied natural gas (LNG) units, where they are used either as mechanical drives, or for on-site power generation.
Based in Abu Dhabi, TS&S is a Mubadala subsidiary that maintains state-of-the-art domestic facilities, while also leveraging its strong international partnerships for greater collaboration and shared synergies.
In which countries within the Middle East are you most active, and how do you plan to further expand your reach in the region?
Our operations currently span the UAE, KSA, Oman, and the wider region, and we are exploring expanding internationally to Pakistan and Indonesia. The global gas turbine MRO market is forecasted to grow by 4% over the next four years, according to Global Gas Turbine MRO Market 2017-2021, driven by investment in oil and gas, so we are optimistic about future growth.
Who are your major clients, and what is your scope of work with them? What oil and gas projects have you been involved with recently?
TS&S works closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Siemens and General Electric. For the energy sector, our recent projects include plant maintenance and power station relocation for Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), MRO services for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) various gas turbines, and turn-around maintenance for ADNOC’s Process and Petrochemicals plant.
Why did you decide to participate in ADIPEC 2017?
TS&S has had a presence at ADIPEC throughout the last decade. It is a great local platform and presents an opportunity to discuss the latest industry trends with trade professionals from around the world. What are the main products or services that you will be showcasing?
TS&S will be showcasing its best-in-class service features and solutions at ADIPEC again this year.
TS&S is the only independent aero-derivatives and light industrial turbines (LIT) MRO facility in the MENA region that provides comprehensive services for gas turbines and driven equipment. It is the only independent Siemens-authorised base for the industrial Trent engine (SGT- A65 TR).
At ADIPEC, TS&S will also highlight its joint venture with The Liburdi Group, which involves advanced component repair for both aero-derivatives and LITs. It is the only one of its kind in the MENA region, and will open up further opportunities for the MRO sector in the region.
