ADIPEC 2017 preview Q&A: Trans Asia Pipeline

Interviewee: Surendranath Dhanekula, Managing Director, Trans Asia Pipeline Services FZ LLC

What is your company’s scope of business within the oil and gas industry?

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Trans Asia Pipeline Services is an integrated provider of pipeline and process services to the oil, gas, power, and petrochemical sectors, comprising more than 300 employees. It has a presence in 12 countries around Asia, meeting needs across pre-commissioning and commissioning activities such as pipeline scrapping and cleaning, nitrogen services, hot tapping and line stopping.

Commitment, reliability, work safety, responsibility, and confidence are Trans Asia’s core values.

In which countries in the Middle East are you most active, and how do you plan to expand your reach in the region?

Trans Asia is an international company operating in the entire GCC region, India and South Asia, Iraq, and Africa. We have offices and equipment yards in all the markets in which we operate, and presently we are expanding our operations in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and West Africa.

Which clients do you work with, and what oil and gas projects have you been involved with recently?

We work with almost all the NOCs and independent international oil majors in the markets in which we operate. We also work with all major EPC contractors as a sub-contractor for greenfield pipeline projects, offering our range of services in pipeline and process industries.

[Trans-Asia is working on] a prestigious project in the Middle East alongside one the largest national oil majors, where we are working as a sub-contractor, offering our pipeline pre-commissioning and decommissioning services for the offshore pipeline network.

Having established our brand in the GCC and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, now we are aggressively bidding for projects in West Africa.

Why did you decide to participate in ADIPEC 2017?

Over the years, ADIPEC has developed itself as a globally recognised brand in the oil and gas sector. We have been associated with – and participated in – ADIPEC for the last three or four years, and have reaped huge benefits from exhibiting our services and capabilities, building our brand awareness across the customer base.

Not only does ADIPEC offer networking opportunities, but it also focuses on the latest technologies on offer from all the global players, and we cannot afford to miss such an opportunity to showcase ourselves to a global audience.

What products or services will you be showcasing at ADIPEC?

Having entered the hot-tapping services market in late 2016, we are focusing on these services. We will be displaying our latest equipment and technologies.

We will be showcasing our service competencies in pipeline and process pre-commissioning and commissioning, [with the aim of] being recognised as an integrated provider of products and services in pipeline and process piping.
