How business was for Trans Asia Pipeline in 2016? What impact would you say the below-par oil prices have had on your company’s operations?
Business was very good for the company in 2016 as we were able to bag a number of prestigious projects and I am happy to say that we were able to achieve 30% growth. With the low oil prices, there is a lot of pricing pressure on the projects and that is where we are able to differentiate by offering cost-effective solutions.
Which are the major oil and gas clients that you work with in the region? What is your scope of work, and what products and services does your company provide for them?
Our services are mainly required by the major EPC contractors as part of their mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning packages, and we have been very fortunate to work with some of the major contractors that are active in the region, such as McDermott, Saipem, NPCC, Dodsal, and Petrofac, to name a few. We also have a number of contracts with the oil and gas companies for their maintenance requirements.
Kindly tell us about some of the major contracts that you have won in the past.
We are currently working on a major contract in Saudi Arabia, offshore, as part of a long-term agreement, as well as on a number of projects in the UAE and Qatar.
What efforts have your company made for the skills development of the workforce, as well as to ensure HSE standards in operations?
The training and skills development of our workforce is a continuous process in our organisation and we have an in-house training programme to make sure our workforce is adept with the latest technologies and developments that are being offered to our clients. Trans Asia places a lot of emphasis on the quality and safety of our operations, as most of our activities are performed in critical environments, and our personnel undergo rigorous training and assessments to ensure they execute our services in the safest manner.
How has your company performed so far in 2017? Have you won any contracts or deals this year that you can tell us about?
This year has started on a very good note for us, with a number of major project awards that should keep us very busy for the rest of the year, and for a good part of next year as well.
