Three injured in Kuwait oilfield fire

Blaze broke out Friday evening at housing facility in Al-Maqwa field

Three oil workers were injured after a fire broke out Friday evening in Kuwait’s Al-Maqwa field, the state news agency KUNA has reported.

The blaze broke out at a housing facility of a company managing drilling operations in the area, while a tanker was filling up the fuel tank, Kuwait Oil Company told KUNA.

Saad Al-Azmi, KOC’s spokesman and Deputy CEO for Administrative and Financial affairs, said the three injured workers were admitted to hospital and were in stable condition.

The fire happened at 6:40pm local time and was soon under full control, he added. An investigation is under way.
