Kuwait Oil Company to install Smartcool AC units

ECO3 units to be set up in gathering centres and water injection plants

Kuwait Oil Company has signed a deal to install 45 air-conditioning units with Life Energy, distributor for Canada-based Smartcool Systems.

The ECO3 units will be set up in gathering centres and water injection plants throughout the company’s facilities in Kuwait.

The Smartcool technology was installed as a pilot on a select number of gathering centres in 2014.

Once the units are installed five out of 26 sites will be receiving the benefit of the technology, KOC said.

George Burnes, president of Smartcool Systems, said: “We see this as a significant development in our efforts to expand into new territories.

“In light of its climate and high demand for cooling, we believe that the Middle East offers obvious growth opportunities for our technology and brand, and Life Energy’s success with a high profile client like the Kuwait Oil Company confirms our confidence in the region.”

Donnie L Gregory, business development officer for Life Energy, added: “Securing additional work with the Kuwait Oil Company has allowed us to leverage this reference client into approaching other clients which will expand our install base with the Smartcool technology.

“We have already been asked to identify saving opportunities at shopping malls and office buildings within Kuwait.”
