Egypt inks $97mn deals with Dana Gas and UK firms

Agreement includes searching for natural gas in the Nile Delta

Egypt has signed two exploration oil and gas deals in the Nile Delta region with the UAE’s Dana Gas and two UK firms, Trade Arabia website has reported.

As part of the agreements Dana Gas will invest $22mn in the north of the floor area of fitness Nile Delta, followed by another $5mn to conduct seismic survey and drill five new wells.

Eagypt’s second deal with two British firms and Dana Gas will see an investment of $75mn in the ground rainfed area of Nile Delta. It also includes three-dimensional seismic surveys and the drilling of three new wells.

Combined together the deals’ value has been estimated at more than $97.
