Emerson, US-based technology and engineering specialist, has announced a number of key appointments beginning of this year.
Edgar Purvis has been named chief operating officer of the company and will start in his new role on 3rd of February
Purvis, who has been with the company for 32 years, previously served as executive vice president and business leader for Emerson’s Climate Technologies segment since 2008.Â
Robert Sharp was appointed Friday executive vice president and business leader for Emerson Climate Technologies after previously serving as vice president of profit planning for Emerson.
Purvis will be replacing Edward Monser, who had served as Emerson’s COO since 2001.
He will remain president of Emerson, a post he’s held since 2010, and continue to manage the company’s international business development and global shared service organisations.
Frank Steeves, executive vice president and secretary and general counsel for the company, will become a member of the company’s Office of the Chief Executive.
Emerson, is a major automation technology and engineering service provider for the oil and gas industry with established presence all over the Middle East and Africa. It has an annual revenue of $24bn and employs 132,000 people worldwide.
