Yemen resumed exports after an attack on its main pipeline temporarily stopped flows on Friday, industry sources told Reuters.
Repairs were conducted shortly after the attack and pipeline’s flows resumed running as normal on Saturday.Â
The attack was conducted on one of the country’s major pipelines, which transports crude from Marib oilfields to Ras Isa on the Red Sea.
Oil flows through the Marib pipeline, one of its main petroleum export routes, at a rate of around 70,000bpd. Before the spate of attacks began three years ago, the 435-km pipeline carried around 110,000bpd to Ras Isa.
However, most of Yemen’s output is from the Marib-Jawf area in the north, with the rest coming from Masila in the southeast.Â
Oil and gas infrastructure in the country has been repeatedly sabotaged in recent months causing fuel shortages and threatening exports revenue.
