Work has resumed at South Korea’s 775,000 barrels per day (bpd) Yeosu plant after a continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) unit had to be stopped due to a fire, according to Reuters.
The 48,000 barrel per day unit, which helps to make feedstock for petrochemicals, had halted production at South Korea’s second largest refinery.
GS Caltex is also in the process of deciding how it will offload crude from the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Wu Yi San, which is currently waiting to unload at Yeosu. The vessel has been unable to discharge its cargo due to a cracked pipeline that caused a small leak 2 weeks ago.
The company are expected to make an announcement in the coming days to explain how they will unload the Wu Yi San’s cargo.
