Schlumberger has acquired Gushor, a Canadian-based petroleum geochemistry and fluid analysis company that provides innovative production and exploration solutions in the heavy oil and oil sand (HOOS) industry.
A University of Calgary spin-off, formed in 2006, Gushor specializes in the integration of geology, fluid properties, petroleum geochemistry and reservoir engineering information.
“The addition of Gushor will enable us to better support our E&P customers by complementing our leading fluids and rocks technology portfolio with geochemical and fluid property analysis capabilities,” said Sameh Hanna, president, Testing Services, Schlumberger.
“As a Schlumberger company, we will be able to further the mainstream adoption of our petroleum geochemistry and fluid analysis solutions, and expand our client services infrastructure by leveraging Schlumberger technology and development expertise,” said Steve Larter, CEO, Gushor.
Gushor is based in Calgary, Canada and operates worldwide with a proven track record of more than 300 projects, completed with various oil and gas companies, on all major continents. The company applies knowledge of geochemical and physical properties of fluids in production optimization by describing and capitalizing on heterogeneous fluid property distribution in reservoirs.
