Partex Oil and Gas, has launched a book entitled the “Universe of the Oil and Gas Industry.”
Authored by Dr. Jorge Gomes and Mr. Fernando Alves, the book provides an overview of the oil and gas industry from exploration to refining. The book was launched at the Jumeirah Hotel at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi,
The publication covers all major technical and non-technical aspects of the oil and gas industry. Drawing on more than 60 years of combined industry experience of the authors, the book aims to answer, often using practical examples from the Middle East, pertinent questions from both current and future industry professionals.
From the genesis and origins of petroleum to market issues, the book addresses the whole chain of the oil and gas industry: geology, exploration, development, production, refining, organizational and contractual matters, HSE, services, standards, markets, etc.
Fareed Abdulla, Society of Petroleum Engineers Regional Director (Middle East, North Africa and India) and the invited speaker at the ceremony, stated, that the book is “This book is distinctive because it is an up to date and realistic reference for both students and professionals in the petroleum industry.”
Gomes graduated in Geology from the University of Porto (Portugal) and holds a MEng and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
Alves graduated in Chemical Engineering in the university of Coimbra, Portugal, holding an MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University.
